Netintent.co.uk Limited is delighted to have designed and developed the new website for the Cheka Sana Children's Trust, a children's charity based in Mwanza, North Tanzania.
Although they are a relatively new organisation, they are growing rapidly. The new website is intended to support that growth and provide a full online presence for the charity.
The site features a NetContent News module, which allows charity workers in the UK and Tanzania to update news items within the site. This functionality also now means the children themselves are able to publish information to their website.
The charity was set up in order to raise awareness and funds for the project Caretakers of the Environment Tanzania (Registration no.14NGO/1978). It is situated in Mwanza, North Tanzania. It consists of an orphanage, a football programme for disadvantaged children and street children and it is in the process of setting up a day care centre. There is a real need for this project in the area, as there are large numbers of street children living in Mwanza, and there is a significant level of poverty in the region.
This project runs and cares for 37 boys at an orphanage in Mwanza, North Tanzania. The orphanage is locally known as Kuleana, and seeks to provide these boys with not only all their basic needs such as shelter, food, healthcare, clothes, and education, but also to support the boys development through HIV awareness programmes, behavioural change counselling and restorative practices.
