Job Purpose

To be responsible for managing and motivating your team to ensure effective delivery of customer focused services on time and within budget.

To be responsible for managing projects within a team to ensure effective delivery of customer focused services on time and within agreed budget.

The Post holder will be working within Sheltered & Supported Housing, City Homes and Housing Advice. Responsibilities will include:

General Responsibilities:
1. Manage complex housing management problems, investigate and resolve complex customer complaints and to respond to enquiries from elected Councillors, MPs, solicitors and advice agencies.
2. Build relationships with other specialist services and provide support to the Customer Service Team on all aspects of housing and tenancy management.
3. Arrange multi- agency meetings to develop positive links with both local health and social services across the City and other housing providers.
4. Positively promote the activities of the Council and represent the Council to outside the organisation as required.

Role Specific Responsibilities:
5. Responsible for delivering a range of comprehensive tenancy and estate management housing services across City Homes, Sheltered & Supported Housing.
6. Oversee enabling individuals to sustain their tenancy by positively intervening with socially excluded, challenging or vulnerable adults and particularly those with mental health problems to enable them to remedy their behaviour.
7. Manage tenancies, on a day-to-day basis, within a defined neighbourhood, assessing tenants needs enabling individuals to sustain their tenancy.
8. Enforce the tenancy conditions in respect of anti-social behaviour, and to initiate possession.
9. Actively encourage and support Residents’ Groups and to establish effective communication with their elected representatives.

To attend residents’ meetings as and when required to implement tenant compacts.
10. Deal with emergencies e.g. fire and flood, and provide relief cover in other areas as necessary.
11. Oversee maximising the collection of all rental income and other monies, by taking proactive action with tenants and leaseholders to maximise their income, minimising their outgoings and enabling them to pay their rent effectively and where this is not possible to instigate court action to minimise rent arrears.


12. Working with other departments to ensure Individuals are receiving the necessary support.

The successful candidate will have expereince within a similar role to Management level and be experienced in working in Tenancy Management or similar enforcement or community development roles. Must also demonstrate expereince of Project Management by demonstrating an understanding of how to plan and deliver projects whilst supporting efficiency gains through procurements
