This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a HR Generalist role dealing with a wide variety of issues and interacting with all levels of management to answer HR questions and resolve issues while complying with Company and legal policies.

The HR Representative should have previous Human Resources experience and have progressed through various Human Resources positions. Specific job duties include but are not limited to the following.

• Work closely with facility leadership team, providing them with guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities (including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, performance management, etc.), in order to ensure a consistent and fair approach to people management throughout the business.
• Provide advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases, ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of the Company’s policies, best practice and employment legislation.
• Identifying recruitment needs with the leaders across the business and supporting the recruitment process via the recruitment team. Planning and coordination of new employee orientation and induction
• Working with the business to support employee development, including the career planning process and performance management cycle, including close support with action planning and improvement plans.
• Operating within the boundaries of employment law to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Interfacing with leaders, employees and the Occupational Health provision to manage sickness absence
• Coordinating the roll out of new policies, and provide a safe source of current policies providing leaders and employees access to relevant documents accordingly. Provide clarification and policy advice/guidance tailored to the business unit where applicable. Drive towards consistency, clarity and accessibility of HR policies throughout the business.
• Deployment of policies and practices throughout the employment life cycle including resourcing, performance management, development and exit interviews
• Shared services point of contact for employees for any policy questions, payroll queries or other general queries. Assisting employees to gain resolution of issues through liaison with the relevant teams and contacts.
• Delivery of transactional HR services including PeopleSoft & Kronos maintenance and reporting
• Development and ownership of HR standard processes to ensure that these are up to date, accurate and applied accordingly. Working alongside other on site teams to develop standard processes.
• Ownership of employee record files, ensuring correct data protection practices.
• Assisting with HR reporting and data analysis using the HR system and looking at proactive ways to improve the HR generalist service as well as conducting other HR administrative duties
• Assist management team in setting strategic direction, particularly on people issues.
• Foster positive working relationships with the two represented Unions and Joint Consultative Committee, including leading any required consultations and assisting in negotiations
• Coordinate local reward and recognition strategies in order to meet business needs.
• Work with leaders and the BCP Learning Team to develop a learning and development plan for the facility.
• Assist in the identification of key skills gaps for the facility and ensure they align with the Company’s learning and talent development plan and priorities.
• Assist the facility leadership team to ensure that employees are communicated with on a regular basis and are kept informed and updated on key business and organisational issues.
• Manage multiple priorities and maintain an excellent standard of knowledge of current HR related best practice and legislation.
• Travel to other sites will be expected.


Required Qualifications:

• Degree level qualification OR equivalent relevant experience.
• HR generalist knowledge and experience including complex employee relations issues and an up to date understanding of employment legislation and HR trends.
• Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills and the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships within the HR team and the rest of the business.
• Experience of working in a unionised environment.
• The successful candidate needs to be a team player, commercially focused and have the ability to manage their own time and workload, and juggle conflicting priorities.
• Professional approach with a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.



Desired Qualifications:

• CIPD qualified.
