Electrical Designer – Permanent – Peterborough - £35,000 - £45,000 pa
Our client is a well-established, dynamic organisation specialising in the design and supply of process control systems.
They currently have vacancies for talented, highly motivated individuals who are looking for opportunities to develop their personal and professional capabilities in this exciting, diverse and fast moving field.
Technical Skills required to undertake the role
• Amtech, AutoCAD LT, Excel
• Reading / understanding of electrical schematics
• Knowledge of current regulations / safety standards
• Knowledge of hardware e.g. Rockwell (Powerflex drives, PLCs, control gear), Telemechanique (drives, control gear), Merlin Gerin, Siemens etc
• Design of MCC Panels (motor circuits, safety circuits, PLC equipment, layouts)
• Produce I/O configuration and I/O lists
• Produce material specifications and bills of material
• Electrical testing / fault finding on site
• Produce cable schedules / sizing calculations / electrical test sheets / single line diagrams
• Design cable routes, calculate containment size and update building layout drawings
• Writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements / CDM regulations
• Knowledge of Export requirements
• Design of fire alarm, small power & lighting, LV / HV distribution
