JOB PURPOSE
To provide initial customer contact to anyone using the cashiering services of this Public Sector organisation.Ensuring that customers are listened to carefully, and the appropriate action is taken.
MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To carry out cashiering duties, ensuring that all transactions are processed within appropriate timescales.
• To ensure end of day procedures are adhered to.
• To assist in the prevention of rent arrears and other debts by ensuring cashiering services are administered efficiently.
• To assist in the recovery of rent arrears by ensuring the initial stages of the Council’s rent arrears procedure is followed.
• To offer customers advice and information about other aspects of their tenancies.
• To develop, co-ordinate and carry out administrative, clerical and word processing functions for the area team.
• To process payments made via rent collectors through the cash receipting system.
• To ensure that customers are made to feel welcome and attend promptly to their enquiries.
• To liaise with other staff members both in City Homes and other departments
This role would ideally suit someone coming from a banking or Post Office background. Candidates will have excellent customer service skills and communicate effectively. Accurate PC skills and administrative skills are also essential.
