Our client a large manufacturing company based in Bar Hill are looking for a Metal work inspector to join them on a long term temporary basis. You will be required to inspect Metal work quality of parts and record findings. Duties will include:
• Reporting to the SQD function in the Supplier Development department, the role involves inspection activities, verifying quality requirements are met on metal work parts supplied from ACE. This is a hands-on role, including lifting, visual inspection and some measurement work where compliance to specifications is needed (basic attribute gauges).
• Recording non-compliances via a shared smartsheet, uploading photos of the issues found.
• Identification and segregation of problems found, ensuring the good and bad parts are clearly identified.
• Ensuring all stock, be it good, bad or indifferent are protected from damage during inspection activities
• Ensuring all stock, is protected from damage after inspection, to ensure safety during movement and re-stocking.
• Any other reasonable requests made by the SQD / SQA or management within the department.
• Wrapping and unwrapping of large cabinets.
Experience / Knowledge
• Inspection work in a similar environment
• Computer literacy in windows applications, particularly Excel
• Good communication, willingness to support others and cooperate on closing actions
• Ability to analyse information and act on it in a timely manner
• 6S – being able to develop and sustain a tidy office and work environment
• Able to take clear photos and upload to smartsheet.
The role is based in Bar Hill although may require occasional travel to their off-site warehouse in Ely. Although the company have pool cars available, own transport may be necessary if these are unavailable.
