Out client is an independently owned travel company that has been operating locally for 80 years and currently employs in the region of 200 staff, half of which have been with the company for over 10 years.
This role sits within the tour operation side of the business which specialises in putting together bespoke tailor-made holidays to a wide range of destinations including the Channel Islands, Far East, Middle East, Southern Africa, Indian Ocean, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand which are sold largely through all Travel Agencies across the UK but also directly to the public.
The Travel Experts work within the busy inbound call centre and are split into two main teams: the Sales Team and the Support Team.
The Sales Team specialise in selling specific destinations dealing with emails and incoming calls from travel agents and direct clients throughout the day. Their role is to put together tailor made holiday packages over the telephone whilst working to sales targets linked to excellent commission and bonus schemes.
The Support Team has more of an administrative role dealing with all worldwide destinations our Client features. This team have a very varied role not only dealing with any changes made to holidays from the supplier or client side once the booking has been made, but also the whole administrative side of holiday bookings behind the scenes. This includes dealing with suppliers and clients over email and the phone, various daily reporting, quality control checking of documentation, assisting with any problems in resort and keeping up to date with foreign office advice.
The Post Travel Team work within the Support Team and deal predominantly with assistance requirements, building work and any issues that occurred during a client’s holiday that need addressing on their return. This role would suit someone who likes administration work, has a keen eye for detail, is personable and empathetic when dealing with problems, is organized and works well in a team.
Key skills required:
• Previous customer service based role, ideally in an office environment
• Professional and calm telephone manner when dealing with problems and complaints
• Excellent letter writing and grammatical skills
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Being able to work under your own initiative and as part of a team
