Main Purpose of Job:
To facilitate the smooth running of the companys Production and Transport Departments
To manage and take overall responsibility for all manufacturing including cost, delivery of completed products, performance, quality and resource, approximately 12 staff.
You will need to flexible, in terms of getting your hands dirty and generally mucking in with the team.
Production, Transport, Technical and Contracts Co-coordinators and all other staff as deemed necessary
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Production Department, which will encourage best practices, personal development and staff engagement
Take responsibility for budgetary control of the manufacturing unit to optimize the profitability for the company
Recommend capital equipment purchases supported by creditable financial justifications
Production scheduling - to plan and control the flow of product through the manufacturing process
Stock control
Purchasing - in line with our current purchasing policy
Supply chain management
Uphold company standards and policies
Manage the training and development of the production team
Develop and encourage a continuous improvement ethos
Reduce work in progress through effective management of planning and resources
Meet all lead time deliveries in line with company objectives
Oversee all deliveries to and from the business liaising with Project Co-coordinators, as required
Programme transport deliveries to optimize vehicle capacities
Hours of work are 08:30 to 4:45 Monday to Thursday and 08:30 to 4:00 on Friday.
(The factory work from 08:15 to 4:45 Monday to Thursday and 08:15 to 2:45 on Friday)
