Assistant Registrar – Peterborough - £20,000 - £21,000 pa – Permanent

The Role of the Assistant Registrar (SAT) is responsible for assisting with Approval of Training and the Enabling (Support) Functions.
He/she has the authority to apply policy and to give direction and advice to farriers, the public and others and is charged with providing resilience across the Secretariat.

The Assistant Registrar is responsible for undertaking delegated tasks linked to but not limited to the following topics:
• Secretariat for general office administration; including internal & external mail, Outlook upkeep, stationery, diary management
• Secretariat for finance administration; including invoice processing, supplier payment runs, processing customer payments, log and process expenses claims, maintenance of staff mileage logs, Finance Committee minute taking
• Secretariat for HR administration; including annual holiday and lieu cards, production of Personal folders, training and recruitment.
• Secretariat for public relations; including equine shows and events, Bulletin production.
• Maintenance of FRC website(s)
• Secretariat for targeting of Accreditation Panel (AP) and pre-visit briefings.
• Secretariat for the AP.
• Secretariat for approval of new training providers.
• Maintain list and order and issue ATF registration cards.
• Act as Secretariat point of contact for engagement with colleges on ATF matters.
• Secretariat for new ATF applications.
• Secretariat for continuous Professional Development (CPD); including annual audit, CPD website.
• Apply and support the regular review of the Accreditation Panel Policy and procedures.
• Apply and support the regular review of the Policy and procedures for selection, qualifications and removal of ATFs.
• Apply and support the regular review of new training provider Policy and procedures.
• Apply and support the regular review of CPD Policy and procedures.

The duties include a considerable amount of correspondence, both letter and email and telephone calls from the public and/or Council’s solicitors, administration of meeting arrangements, preparation of papers for various committees and minute taking.

It is expected the post holder will support fellow Secretariat in assisting with other duties during busy periods as requested, e.g. collection of retention fees and distribution of mail outs.
Employee Health and Safety.

• All employees have a legal obligation to take reasonable care for their own Health and Safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts.
• Co-operate with the Rgistration Council by following instructions and guidance.
• Use and take due care of anything provided by the Registration Council to protect them whilst at work and for their welfare and report any defective equipment immediately to the Deputy Registrar.
• To report all accidents to the First Aider and then the Deputy Registrar and ensure they are entered in the Accident Book held by the First Aider.
• To report all potential hazards to the Deputy Registrar.

The duties of the Assistant Registrar may be changed from time to time by the Registrar or his/her Deputy within the broad job specification.
