QAD Technical Systems Analyst (6275659) – 36 - 60 months – Peterborough - £21.50 - £28.00 ph
There is a requirement for a temporary position (2 – 4 years) within the GIS QAD (MFGPro) COE Application Team, located in Peterborough, UK.
The requirement for this role is being driven by a high demand within the Life Cycle Management team which will be delivering multiple QAD & progress environment improvements including upgrades to the latest QAD application software.
The role as a Technical systems Analyst you will be working on multiple IT projects across globally located Business units & servers, working as part of a global team taking direction from Project Managers and Technical Leads and following departmental processes. You will need to be proficient in, gathering requirements, technical analysis, functional design, Linux & AIX operating system functionality & most importantly a full understanding of the progress database platform (V9 with a view to upgrading existing environments to the current release)
• Gather requirements using appropriate elicitation techniques including interviewing, documentation reviews, process mapping etc.
• Complete technical analysis tasks, producing high quality documentation, mapping out as is processes and identifying systemic or technical solutions to meet the requirements.
• Detail the to-be design, including detailed specification documents.
• Where required, produce functional and technical specifications for a developer to work from.
• Unit test the system and process changes against original requirements.
• Communicate effectively
• Train and support peers and users in the new to-be process and system.
• Follow ITSM (ITIL) Change Management processes.
• Follow internal processes and documentation standards.
