Our client is looking for an experienced buyer to join them at their offices in Huntingdon. Candidates must have at least 2 years experience within a similar position.
Duties of the role will consist of the below:
This role is heavily focused on negotiation of supplier contracts and prices including tendering, whilst continually reviewing market opportunities for new products and suppliers
Continuously searching for opportunities to reduce possible costs, taking account of ensuring the logistical processes by which the products are moved from supplier premises to warehouses and from warehouses to customers is provided at lowest possible cost taking account the customer proposition and the need for timely and accurate fulfilment
Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, and division managers to find the best products of best value, quality & availability
Accountable for building and maintaining a comprehensive library of supplier contracts.
Work within purchasing budgets
You will be expected to be both customer and company focused with a pro-active approach as well as being able to handle and implement new ideas
Establish new processes and systems for effective procurement across the Company
Maintaining minimum re-order levels
Identify key national and regional suppliers with in each market
Purchase and control of all raw materials used in production
Ability to work as part of the wider team within the business
Requirements
SAGE 50 knowledge
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software is required
Strong negotiation skills
Good communication both verbal and written
Excellent networking skills internally and externally
