Accounts Assistant - Peterborough - £15,000 - £21,000 pro rata Part Time 20 hours (hours flexible) Purpose of Role
To support the partners in the general accountancy and tax matters, through the preparation of accounts for clients who are either sole traders, partnerships or limited companies, provision of bookkeeping services and day to day office duties as part of a small team of 5 staff. Study support will be provided.
Job Activities • Preparation of accounts for clients who are sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. • Preparation of client supporting file with lead schedules, supporting information and all required documentation. • Preparation of clients bookkeeping and quarterly VAT returns. • To process client payroll services - weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls and any year end matters (training will be provided). • Regular, appropriate communication with clients through conversations, emails, letters and face to face meetings. • Office management duties including administration, filing, answering the telephone, photocopying, scanning, meeting visitors, post, making drinks for meetings etc as required. • Responsible for dealing with ad hoc enquiries and provision of other accountancy/tax/office support as required by either the clients or Directors.
Skills / Knowledge Required • Competent user of Sage and Microsoft packages. • Some experience of a payroll package would be an advantage. • Analytical and problem solving skills. • Communication skills • Observation skills • Practice Experience-1 years minimum experience • Someone who is studying for AAT or AAT qualified would be advantage (Study support will be provided) Behaviours Required • Professionalism • Conscientious • Motivated
