Description: | For: Group Financial Accountant (Maternity Cover) – 12 months

This is a maternity cover position.
Management of year-end and quarterly statutory consolidation and reporting to parent company in Japan, including liaison with external auditors.
Responsibility for ongoing management of IFRS-based financial reporting across the Group.
Monthly consolidation of Group statutory results and preparation of Group Management Account schedules.
Responsibility for preparing annual tax returns for a number of UK based companies.
Responsibility for maintaining the Groups transfer pricing documentation.
Working with the Chief Financial Officer on Group tax projects and maintaining Group tax rate models.
Assistance with planning, management and support of J-SOX related internal control documentation, testing and compliance. May require some overseas travel.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Maintaining the Group Accounting Manual.
Preparation of company financial statements and statistical returns.
Contributing to the internal audit programme (if required).
Other duties and ad hoc projects as reasonably requested from time to time.
COMPETENCIES:
Well organised; logical and methodical with an attention to detail. Good analytical and judgement skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, managing workload to meet deadlines. Strong commercial orientation. Good communication skills with the ability to interact with, influence and support people at varying levels within the Group. Good team worker.
SKILLS:
Technical accounting expertise and an understanding of current accounting standards. Good PC skills with a good working knowledge of Word and Excel. Project management skills.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified ACA or equivalent. Post-qualification industry experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. Previous experience of corporation tax work and tax accounting would also be advantageous.
