Reporting directly to Database Manager and working within a team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a number of Microsoft Access front end, which have SQL back end, Databases for use within both the immediate team and wider business along with the development of a varied number of statistical report outputs.
The role requires good organizational and inter-personal skills as well as being capable of working on multiple projects at once. The ability to prioritize their own workload and work under pressure whilst keeping to previously agreed deadlines is required.
Having knowledge and first-hand experience of developing and maintaining Access databases along with Access VBA is essential, the candidate also needs highly developed knowledge of MS Excel and VBA. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server would also be beneficial.
Key tasks
• Develop, produce and maintain various Access Front End Databases to all levels of the business. • Liaise with colleagues to set project time scales and work towards achieving these deadlines. • Develop and maintain the data within the SQL back end so that is presented and imported within the aforementioned Databases. • Ensuring that all data within the Databases is accurate and robust. • Communication with fellow team members and end users on project progress and/or difficulties. • Other duties as required.
Skills and Experience:
• Experience in developing and maintaining Access Databases to end users in a prior job role. • Experience of writing VBA within both Access and Excel. • Demonstrate knowledge in SQL programming through SQL Management Studio, knowledge of Visual Studio would also be beneficial. • Well-developed communication and problem solving skills. • Possessing advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, obtaining external data and formulae such as vlookup and Sumif
