Business Support Analyst (4566145) - Peterborough - £16.00 ph - 12 months
The Systems Analyst will be supporting multiple IT systems across the Business unit
Following departmental processes you will need to be proficient in problem solving and incident resolution, gathering requirements, analysis, functional design & system testing.
The successful candidates must have 3 - 5 years’ experience of supporting business critical applications within a large manufacturing organisation.
There is also a mandatory requirement for the successful applicants to be on-call 1 week in 4 & work additional hours where required.
Strong problem solving abilities. Understanding as-is processes and identifying systemic or process solutions to meet requirements & resolution of the reported problem.
Detailed systems analysis using appropriate elicitation techniques,
Work as part of a diverse team supporting multiple applications & technologies.
Ability to work very confidently at the Operating System layer (Linux), although Unix would be helpful.including ability to read / write & understand existing and deployed scripts.
Where required, produce functional and technical specifications for a developer.
Train and support users in the systems & processes.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting business critical applications within a large manufacturing organisation.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reading / understanding and fault diagnosing Medium - High complexity Linux / Perl scripts which process business data between systems.
Minimum of 3 years experience & full ability in navigating & fault finding application issues at the Linux Operating system layer such as log file interpretation & text data processing.
Ability to understand and fault diagnose Oracle packages which process information from an oracle database which is used by the manufacturing applications.
Desirable:
Perl language scripting
Visual basic knowledge and understanding
Previous (ITIL) knowledge / experience desirable.
Good knowledge of system integration technologies.
Experience of ERP systems
