To manage the production facilities of a Manufacturing Area such that Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets are achieved within agreed timescales. Key elements of the role will be the continuing development of a team culture, and achievement of individual and team improvement objectives.
MAIN DUTIES:
• Manage resources and lead the team to achieve targets in terms of MDWT targets; Quality, Cost, Speed, H&S and Morale. Reporting at all, MDWT levels and produce a monthly report. • To achieve and maintain inventory and location accuracy within the relevant materials zone. • Ensure that the area operates to the ISO9001 quality system, and participates in and contributes to the vision. • Ensure the requirements of the Company Health and Safety Policy are achieved and that the requirements of appropriate statutory legislation are met. • Ensure achievement of the relevant area expenditure, capital and cost reduction budgets, which will be set, with specific emphasis on the effective and efficient use of resources. • Drive a philosophy of continuous improvement in the area, such that improvement becomes a way of life.
• Manage on a day-to-day basis employee issues within the area, including discipline, absence, housekeeping, motivation and morale. • Manage a training programme that delivers appropriately trained new staff, and a trained flexible workforce to meet the demands of the business cycle. • Provide leadership and guidance to employees within the area (including bi-annual appraisals), to ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to maximise their potential within the Company. • Provide support to the Manufacturing Manager in developing and executing Manufacturing Strategy.
SKILLS
• Excellent communication skills • Good PC skills including MRP and Microsoft Office • Specialist technical skills in one or more areas of manufacturing
RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
• Degree or equivalent • Experience of managing people / teams
Hours: 8.30am - 5pm with an hour for lunch.
