Description: | You will assist the Finance Director in the following duties:
You will have one direct report The maintenance of customer accounts by reconciling payments, producing and following up invoices, credits, statements and maintaining accurate records
Reconciliation of customer procurement systems to ensure the company invoices are accurately entered for smooth transition to payment
Reconciliation of bank statements and the management of the company bank account in to ensure figures are correct and balanced
Management of the daily cash book and the daily banking of monies paid to the company - taking of credit card payments
Maintenance of the purchase ledger and reconciliation of supplier invoices for entry onto the company accounts system - supplier payments and sending out accurate remittances
The maintenance of good relationships with customers and the speedy resolving of accounting issues - including debt chasing and payment issues
Reconciliation of company VAT accounts and reports
Reconciliation of company VISA statements
The production of weekly management reports and management accounts as directed by the Finance Director
Any other duties as directed by the Finance Director to assist in the smooth and effective running of the company
The following competencies are required for the role:
You must be a good communicator and be able to deal with customers effectively and confidently
You must be able to analyse figures and accurately produce financial reports - being competent with the production of excel spreadsheets
You must be able to work under pressure
You must have excellent organisational skills and be able to deal with multiple activities You must have an engaging and outgoing personality and be confident in dealing with people
You must be self-motivated with a desire to always succeed
Performance Measurement
The role will be performance targeted
This will form the basis of your regular performance review and annual appraisal
Salary enhancement will be performance based
Education, Experience, Skills
A formal AAT Level 3 qualification is desirable
Previous experience in a similar accounting role is desirable
You must have good analytical skills
You must be an excellent communicator and be able to deal with people in a friendly and professional manner
Hours of Work- 8.30am – 5pm.
You are contracted to work 40 hours per week. However, due to the nature of the business you will need to have a flexible approach and will be required to work additional hours as necessary
