The applicant must have experience of Microsoft Excel, knowledge of Microsoft Access & Kerridge is preferred and to have a professional telephone manner when speaking to customers and suppliers.
Attention to detail is paramount as any errors can lead to stock being devalued or lost; customer/suppliers prices becoming corrupt leading to loss of profit; branches not being able to process transactions.
In this role you will be tasked with maintaining customer terms, contracts and reviews the company and branches.
This will involve downloading and uploading of customer prices, product pricing and following various processes and procedures within the department.
You will be supporting all our branches, liaising with all levels of management both by e-mail and on the telephone.
You must have good IT skills including Microsoft access and excel however in house training will be provided. You will need an analytic mind as you will need to interrogate data when downloaded before uploading to two separate internal systems to ensure the smooth running of both systems. As you will be dealing with highly sensitive information, accuracy and a keen eye for detail are also essential.
Work will be provided in an excel format where the applicant will need to manually validate such information as below.
Often formulae are used to make the process less repetitive and most cases more accurate.
The impact of this data tidy will be moving stock, sales history and customer pricing around the system, enhancing product descriptions and associated info which will show immediately to our trading branches and reviewing & aligning customer terms which will impact on our customers.
Day to Day Responsibilities include:
• Product & Price Data • Validate whether or not the product is still valid by contacting supplier, outlets or researching on the internet. • Identify and consolidate customer records, using the internet to check details or contacting customers directly. • Update and maintain product and pricing information as required. • Prepare and produce reports as required. • Add extra information required for the system such as; Market size info - how many m2/m3/linear metres the product covers, dimensions. • Supplier price - this can vary depending on when location • Units of measure - is the product stock/sold by box/pack/single/metre etc
