Our client, a major manufacturer based in Peterborough with a globally recognised brand have a 12 month contract opportunity for an IT Analyst to join their team.

Summary:
• Responsible for working both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications.
• Develop professional network and leadership skills, assisting in the creation and support of IT Solutions that enable success.
• Exercises independent judgment with little to no direction from supervisor.

Education/Experience:
• Computer-related or Engineering-related College or University Degree,
• Some IT job-related experiences,
• IT experience related to programming, integration or infrastructure - preferred,
• Computer related or engineering related Masters Degree - preferred.

Skills and Competencies:
• Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware & software and current development processes and tools.
• Contribute real value by developing, integrating, and/or supporting in-house and purchased applications or infrastructure solutions in order to solve business problems.
• Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following business processes (Preferred): 1. Supply Chain. 2. Manufacturing. 3. Product Introduction. 4. Product Support.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Working directly on application / technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions.
• Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components.
• Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure.
• Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.
• The role will involve analytical and development activity to create a specification solution for our Engineering department.
• Primarily the role will be to work with key business users to identify how data currently residing on spreadsheets can be migrated to a database with a web based front-end, creating validation rules and helping with business change management activities.
• The successful candidate will need to have strong communication, initiative and problem solving skills ideally with background in Oracle and SQL techniques to help analyse data quality and design and appropriate environment.
• This data is now required to be fed to other systems and therefore migrated to a more robust solution.
• The candidate will work as part of a team taking direction from our Project Manager and Technical leads as well as development peers and be required to follow departmental ITSM processes for Change Management

Desired Experience for an IT Developer
• Proven experience of requirements management
• Proven experience systems analysis and systems design
• Proven ability in database design and data management techniques
• Proven experience with SQL
• Desired to have some .Net techniques Key Competencies:
