Reporting directly to Database Manager and working within a team, the candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a varied number of statistical reports and providing analysis to a wide number of colleagues throughout the business through various different methods and software tools. The data for these reports will primarily have been obtained via Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio with output using various applications such as Excel, Access and Adobe Acrobat.
The role requires good organisational and inter-personal skills as well as being capable of working on multiple projects at once. The ability to prioritise their own workload and work under pressure whilst keeping to previously agreed deadlines is required.
Having knowledge and first-hand experience of using Microsoft SQL Server within a work environment is essential, the candidate also needs highly developed knowledge of MS Excel and Access as well as intermediate skills of VBA.
Key tasks • Develop, produce and circulate various daily, weekly, monthly reports as required to all levels of the business. • To develop, maintain and run the month end import processes into the central databases. • Respond to non-standard requests for information. • Ensuring that all data is accurate and delivered within a set time scale. • Communication with fellow team members and end users on project progress and/or difficulties. • Other duties as required.
Key skills • Experience in writing and publishing reports to end users in a prior job role. • Demonstrate knowledge in SQL programming through SQL Management Studio, knowledge of Visual Studio would also be beneficial. • Well-developed communication and analytical skills. • Experience of writing VBA within both Access and Excel. • Past development of Microsoft Access database for end users. • Possessing advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, obtaining external data and formulae such as vlookup and Sumif
