Our Peterborough based client are seeking an Organisational Grants Liaison Officer. The purpose of the role is to administer all aspects of the organisational grant programmes of the Trusts / Funds. To ensure that the Trusts objectives for organisational grant funding are met within available resources. To administer effective scheme training to any third party organisations.
Principal Responsibilities • Administer and maintain positive and productive relationships between the organization and all organisational grant recipients and other third parties as required. • Principle day to day contact for funded projects, Trustees, clients and other stakeholders as required in relation to the organisational grant programmes. • Proactively contribute to the ongoing development of practices and procedures in relation to the organisational grant programmes. • Respond proactively to queries from funded organisations, Trustees, clients and other stakeholders. • Regular feedback to funded organisations on quality issues relating to the submission of applications as these arise e.g. biweekly • Database analysis of the performance of organisations. • Preparation of reports and papers for presentation to the Senior Management Team, Trustees, clients, etc. as required including for quarterly Board meetings. Attendance at meetings as required. • Arrange visits to potential and funded projects in liaison with Trustees. • Administration of the Authorised Agency process. • Ad hoc support to clients, within resources available and according to contracts. • Based on funding criteria set by Trustees, research and make suggestions into possible funding themes using knowledge of charitable / utility sectors and developments within both. • Preparation of organisational grant funding application form and guidance notes. • Set up and administration of interview process. • Implementation of Trustees decisions. • Monitoring spend against organisational grant budgets. Regular liaison with Finance regarding new grant awards, changes to budgets, etc. • Preparation of funding agreements. • Administration of grant payments. • Administration of inductions and training days for funded workers and other organisations. • To support the delivery of all work programmes within the department. • Support management initiatives. • Maintain clear and accessible systems for the safe keeping of electronic and paper based documents. • Be responsible, in conjunction with others, for the security of office documentation, equipment and premises. • On occasion the post holder will be required to work flexibly including travel and a longer than normal day.
Experience and skills • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently to produce accurate work under pressure while continuing to meet deadlines • Fully competent communicator (verbal and written) to manage both internal and external communications at all levels within the business. • Confident and diplomatic with an ability to create and foster working relationships internally and externally at all levels of the business. • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads. • Ability to develop, implement and monitor programmes, systems and projects. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to interpret financial information. • Understanding and experience of grant giving, including application form design, assessment, project outcomes/indications, managing and monitoring performance to achieve stated outcomes. • A confident decision maker with a flexible and positive approach.
Qualifications and knowledge • Experience in the use of Microsoft products to intermediate level, particularly Excel. • Public or charitable sector experience would be an advantage (desirable) and an awareness of the strategic environment around indebtedness. • Awareness of Data Protection legislation and adherence in the workplace.
