Our Peterborough based client is currently seeking an experienced Events Fundraiser to deliver a successful portfolio of events to meet or exceed budgeted recruitment and net income targets. To ensure an excellent event supporter experience and develop new business opportunities to grow our events portfolio.
Key responsibilities
• Plan the long term (3-5 years) strategy for challenge events, offering insight, ideas and advice.
• Stay informed of sector developments, market place and trends, influencing and informing the development of challenge events.
• Identify, secure and develop new business opportunities focusing on Charity of the Year partnerships and other corporate engagement mechanisms including the preparation and delivery of presentations and pitches.
• Identify and introduce prospects for development.
• Work with the communications, direct marketing and supporter care teams to ensure participants and prospects receive personal, tailored and engaging communication using a variety of channels including telephone, SMS, email, post and face to face.
• Ensure business and marketing plans are in place.
• Monitor and regularly report on KPIs.
• Manage the events expenditure budget, allocating resources to achieve maximum value, reporting and re-forecasting as required.
• Planning, project management and delivery of event logistics for all challenge events.
• Identification, negotiation and management of third party suppliers.
• Work with the Outsourcing Manager to ensure contracts are in place for all key suppliers.
• In liaison with communications, direct marketing and our fundraising agency, produce or commission copy for all events promotional literature both on and offline.
Candidates must have a structured and proactive approach to work, the ability to work to deadlines, establish clear priorities and use their own initiative.
They must have proven success in securing and developing new opportunities and have the people skills to work at all levels, and motivate others to be part of challenge event activities.
The successful applicant will be imaginative, driven and energetic. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to deliver excellent fundraising pitches, new ideas and project updates to a range of audiences in a clear, inspiring and confident way.
They must be able to commit to travelling and attending events out of the area and out of office hours, including Bank Holidays, weekends and evenings, staying overnight where required.
