Our Peterborough based client is seeking an Outsourcing accountant to join their team. The purpose of the Role is to prepare management and statutory accounts for companies, partnerships and sole traders, from information and documentation received from clients. To prepare submissions for VAT and payroll where required.
Duties include: • The preparation of management accounts, including posting to Sage Line 50 to maintain the clients records, from information and documentation received from clients, ensuring that all relevant deadlines are met. Each assignment should be completed as far as possible before being passed to the Manager or Partner for review. • Work on a wide range of accounts. • Effectively manage time to ensure that jobs are finished within budget and time is fully utilised. • Produce management accounts monthly and quarterly. • Occasionally complete P11D’s - go through the audit file and look for any benefits. • Corporation tax computations (if appropriate). • VAT returns. • Billing (where appropriate). • Prepare payroll submissions and support the payroll administration function (where appropriate). • Ensure that all hours worked on assignments are correctly recorded. • Provide technical advice and support to clients and staff in the use of the Sage Line 50 accounting Software • Prepare management accounts information, also provide statutory accounts or provide files of information for statutory accounts preparation by accountancy staff where required
Qualification and skills: • AAT qualified or sufficient qualifications by experience • Strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation within a practice environment • Strong double entry knowledge and skill • Good working knowledge of SAGE, and other IT packages • Basic tax knowledge – how to do tax computations, PAYE, VAT • Accuracy • Organisational/time management skills • Communication – good written, verbal and active listening skills • Confident when dealing with clients and getting your views across • Methodical and logical thinking • Use initiative to identify problems and provide solutions
