Technical Services Officer Perm - £30,000 pa - Peterborough

As the Technical Services Officer working as part of the Core ICT team, you will have a critical role in creating these products. The team builds and maintains many of the data products, including flagship products such as Alms.NET; our core segmentation product. As the Technical Services Officer your role will be diverse and challenging. Reporting to the ICT Manager, you will plan, design, direct, administer and co-ordinate the system and subsystems of both the networks (LAN & Wireless) and telephony. This will include resolving any issues which might occur in network operations, maintaining the entire network and server hardware/software. Also responsible for the installation of the organisations network and its maintenance at all times, ensuring the ready access of company files, intranet, internet and emails.
Provisioning of security systems in order to stop hackers from gaining unauthorized access into the systems will also be a key task.
Once a system has been set up, the main duties will include providing technical support, continuous load-balancing of the servers and handling of back-ups. Design and implementation of a fully-detailed Disaster Recovery Plan ensuring latency in existing server capacity to provide uninterruptable services and maintain business continuity.
This position has requirement to provide out-of-hours business support.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in each of the following disciplines: o Network administration o LAN, WAN implementation and management o Network capacity planning, security principles, and best practices o Enterprise network troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, MPLS, EPL, etc...) o Creating technical documentation.
