Our St Neots based client is looking for a Project Manager. The purpose of the position is to manage localisation projects and client account management. Duties will include:
• Handling localisation requests and queries from clients. • Carrying out linguistic assessment of assets received from client. • Managing projects and resources. • Final deliverables responsibility. • Checking the deliverables and sending to client. • Assisting with checking and quality assurance. • Maintaining project tracking and other spreadsheets/databases. • Assisting with quality control of external suppliers. • Assisting with the archiving and storage of materials. • Developing the scope of the translation and localisation work. • Assisting other translators who may lack training in fully understanding the concepts and principles of games localisation, so that they can produce good translations that implement the various TRCs and glossaries: o discussing general principles with translators o discussing particular texts and provisions with translators, including ways to develop appropriate terminology o discussing possible approaches to various texts and dealing with difficult translation problems • Assisting in the production and use of glossaries. • Client account management: establish client patterns, pursue opportunities with clients and ensure good relationship is maintained with clients. • To manage localisation issues coming from QA and proactively address these. • Assist in the administration of vendors/freelancers; Add vendors to the database when requested, be actively involved in recruiting new Freelancers, negotiate rates with vendors and keep the rate information up to date. • Analyse profitability on specific projects. • Create Post-Mortem documents on specific projects. • Helping with writing training documentation. • Proofreading translations, checking format standards. • General admin work: word counts, building quotes, raising POs.
The desired candidate will ideally have industry experience. They will have excellent communication skills as well as prioritization and organisational skills and project management experience. A working knowledge of TRADOS is desirable.
