Main Purpose of Job: Assist the Logistics Manager with the daily warehouse operations.
Key Tasks and Main Duties: Assist the Logistics Manager with the following daily activities as required: • Pick management – work flow and pick allocation • Activate picks and liaise with Head office on all shipments • Generate shipping labels • Manifest all 3rd party shipments • Complete and send shipments on the system • Organise and oversee loading of all vehicles • Manage the goods in process, including posting containers, generating pallets ID’s and pallet transports and liaise with purchasing regarding shortages and damages • Manage any re-packing operations • Oversee the returns process • Site inspections, as per internal procedures • Respond to NHS delivery discrepancies • Manage and safeguard all warehouse paperwork • Agency staff booking and time sheet management (container unloaders) • Order pallets and consumables • Print and review monthly volume and picker reports • Telephone Queries • Assist with appropriate Health and Safety and Environmental objectives • Deputise for the Logistics Manager in his absence
It will also be a requirement to provide holiday and absence cover for the Logistics Team at the other Warehouse.
Attributes: Required: • Excellent organisational and communication skills • Good time management, ability to work to strict deadlines • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and Excel • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills • Own transport (will be required to travel to the Bourne Warehouse on occasion)
Desirable: • Supervisory / Team Leader experience • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Ax or similar operational computer software • Knowledge / experience of health, safety and environmental good working practices
