This is a very interesting role working for a large regional employer.Our client is made up of a team of 4,000 employees providing a service to 6 million domestic and business customers so there is always something that needs doing.
This role is tasked with controlling vehicle resource for the site to ensure routine and emergency haulage operation.
• Working to strict Service Level Agreements. • Liaison within the business and with external suppliers to ensure the haulage schedule is maintained and delivered in accordance with requirements. • Promotion and continual improvement of a safe working culture within all areas of the RTS operation, and the development of a performance culture within the RTS team. • Close liaison with all Drivers and Contract Drivers. • Schedule weekly work load for routine/non-routine sludge haulage operations. • Liaison with customers to ensure any delivery issues are communicated efficiently. • Liaison with Contractors to ensure that vehicles are supplied as required in excess of Customer requirements. • Reporting of Driver holiday, sickness and absence. • Update and maintain Driver availability listings. • Production of Driver Schedules. • Updating and maintaining administration relating to all vehicles. • Ensuring drivers files are updated and maintained to ensure compliance with legislation. • Ensure driver availability information is completed in a timely manner. • Ensuring all instructions to drivers & actions by drivers comply with current legislation & internal procedures, with any non-compliance reported immediately. • Ensuring the laws relating to the driving & operation of vehicles used under this license are observed: e.g. The rules of drivers hours and tachographs are observed, proper records are kept and that these are made available on request. • Completion of reports as necessary. • Negotiation of Supplier rates. • Monitoring of KPI's and targets. • All related administration.
Candidates will ideally hold a CPC qualification (although this is not essential) and have proven experience within a UK transport and road haulage position. A self starting, organised approach is essential. As are good PC skills - Word, Excel, Excel, Access.
