Manufacturing Improvement Manager - £50,000 pa
Reporting to the Operations Director Working with the Manufacturing Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Supply Chain Team, Plus close Co-operation with Greg Summers at the Liverpool plant.
Key Areas of responsibility:
• To assess, gather and build on best practices group wide • To develop Continuous Improvement practices in the Group Operations • To develop and document Layouts and appropriate Manufacturing processes • To lead Productivity and reduce waste • To enhance metrics and develop the visual factory • To train team members with relevant skills to speed progress
Objectives:
• Improve capacity through efficiency gains and bottleneck reduction • To create a culture of Continuous improvement • To achieveformal recognition of our capability within two years – through an appropriate award • To Champion this best Practice as ‘The Manufacturing Way’
Required Education & Training
• A degree in Engineering or Manufacturing • The ability to train others in ‘Manufacturing Systems Engineering’ tools • Good IT skills to plan, document and support • Continuous Improvement skills – plus the ability to train others • Capable of working with Six Sigma tools
Soft Skills
• Ability to inspire others and work with drive and determination – leading from the front across cultures and sites • Create a strong team working ethic and have effective interpersonal skills • Ability to deal with resistance and work effectively at all levels and with multiple cultures • Systems thinking – the ability to utilise systems effectively to support and maintain the tasks to standards or plans
Location and travel
• Based in Cambridge. Some travel will be required World-wide.
