The overall objective of this role would be to control & direct the profitable business development of the business.
Using your proven commercial acumen you will be familiar with utilizing sales mediums such as direct mail, the internet and e- commerce.
An integral part of the role would be to recruit & manage an existing functioning telesales team and field sales staff.This would involve instilling good practice within the team, with regard to customer service. As a manager of a telesales team you are likely to have at least three years experience. Leading by example you will be passionate about sales and building relationships. As a leader yet part of the team you will also be making outbound calls thus demonstrating effective leadership. Your duties will include Interviewing and recruiting new members of the team, coaching, motivating and providing ongoing support/ training as well as call monitoring to improve call quality.
The role requires one to directly manage, initiate & develop all sales activities and campaigns. You would also be expected to take personal responsibility for major distributor & key account development which will involve face to face meetings, occasionally accompanied by the relevant member of the sales team. Building profitable longer term partnerships with both clients and suppliers are key in this role.
Other sales responsibilities include preparing annual business plans and quarterly forecast updates. Publication of the monthly management report, and attend management meetings.
Due to your extensive client engagement you would be expected to participate in the procurement decisions of the business, as a vast product range is a key factor in satisfying a diverse client base
You will be expected to work closely with the heads and support staff of other Divisions e.g. purchasing, QA, finance, Logistics etc.
You will also be expected to attend exhibitions.
You will have good Sales and Marketing process experience as well as good corporate vision.
