Traffic / Customs Analyst – Desford – 4 months (maternity leave)- £12.00 ph
The job purpose is to ensure Compliance and Control of H.M. Revenue & Customs (HMR&C) activities on Excise and Inland Customs Service (EICS) and Intrastat Arrivals (IA) for the Legal Entities and Accountable Business Units located at the Leicester site.
Control all inbound shipments of production/indirect material into the Plant from outside the U.K.
Ensure all material received from outside the U.K / E.C. is entered into the customs systems to ensure 'the right revenue at the right time' for H. M. Revenue & Customs.
To prepare and submit monthly reports / CD’s, on EICS and IA, for submission to HMR&C. Control and input duty liability transfers from U.K. suppliers to C.P.E.S.
To ensure I.P.R. (Inward Processing Relief) authorisation in place thereby allowing the import of goods to a duty suspended regime and avoiding up-front payment of Duties
Ideally the successful candidate will possess knowledge and understanding of Purchasing / Inventory / Receiving Stores systems and practices.
Keyboard /P.C. skills required, experience with Microsoft Excel/Word.
Self-motivated and give attention to detail
Able to communicate in a clear and precise manner.
Knowledge of H. M. Revenue & Customs would be an advantage.
Educated to an “ A “ level standard.
Ability to cope under pressure especially during 'month end' routines when working to deadlines set by H.M Revenue & Customs.
