Material Planner (322908) - Desford - £12.40

We are a global company, with hundreds of locations worldwide to serve and support our customer base, and respond quickly to their needs. Building Construction Products at Leicester is dedicated to the assembly of small construction machines, typically used on building and construction sites - Backhoe Loaders, Mini Hydraulic Excavators and Compact Wheel Loaders.

This position will have accountability for collaborating with suppliers to ensure execution to planned orders and schedules, and resolves issues with suppliers to ensure material availability for facility production. The incumbent works with the facility production schedulers and operations personnel to support facility production and point of use material availability.

Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not essential.

This is a busy role and the ideal candidate would be used to working in a fast paced environment and be able to multi task.



Working within the supply chain team, the Material Planner has the following main responsibilities:-

Ensures the timely delivery of materials to the facility, collaborating with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and shipping schedules to meet facility production plans.
This position actions MRP outputs aligning part schedules to production requirements.


Performs work to improve point of use material availability
Initiate, co-ordinate and participate in activities to ensure optimum inventory levels.
Manage and control effective engineering changes. Involved with, as necessary, the scheduling and control of onward ship material.
Resolve invoicing & receiving discrepancies.

Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills.
Knowledge and experience in material control/planning is essential.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self motivated with good attention to detail.
PC Skills are essential.
Knowledge of MRP systems would be an advantage.
Ideally possess a technical/commercial qualification at degree level or relevant experience.

Hours of work are 8am – 3pm, there is flexibility in that you could start between 7am and 8am and finish between 3pm and 4pm.
